Carmen Inoa

Carmen Inoa serves on the Steering Committee of the Child Jesus School in Petit-Goave, Haiti. Her connection to Fr. Vidal Martinez, OSM, dates back to the early 1980s, when she served as a team leader for the young adult Encounter with Christ and teen weekend retreats. During that same period, she also supported the parish rectory office during summer breaks and taught CCD to children preparing for First Communion. 

Carmen had the opportunity of traveling with Fr. Vidal to Petit-Goâve, Haiti, for weeklong service trips in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. While there, she organized social and educational activities for students, helping create meaningful opportunities for learning, engagement, and connection. Following this life-changing experience, she committed to helping Fr. Vidal with his ministry. 

Carmen’s commitment to service has extended well beyond her commitment to Child Jesus School. Since 2010 to the present, she serves as Coordinator and Administrator of the Bread of Life Food Pantry at Our Lady of Fatima Church, continuing her long-standing commitment to supporting individuals and families in need. From 2015 to 2021, she also served as a Board Member of the Jewish Renaissance Foundation in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, a community-based organization that supports the youth, families in need and senior citizens. 

Carmen has also participated in hands-on missionary and disaster-recovery work. In August 2009 and August 2010, she served at Glenmary Farm in Lewis County, Kentucky, helping meet the spiritual and material needs of people living in Appalachia through social outreach. In August 2008, she assisted with rebuilding homes in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and the 2005 levee breaches. 

In addition to her community and mission work, Carmen has supported young adult faith formation as a team leader in the Spirit & Truth Catholic Young Adults Ministry at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Perth Amboy, NJ. In that role, she helped young adults deepen their faith through Eucharistic adoration and community engagement. 

In Carmen’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling to different parts of the world and photography.
