A Visit to Families Affected by Hurricane Melissa and the El Río
Earlier this week, Fr. Magloire met with a mother of three students from our school whose family is now living in a temporary center after losing everything in El Río.
The floods took homes, personal belongings, identification documents, school uniforms, book bags, meals, and money — everything they had.
During the visit, tears and stories of loss filled the air, yet even amid the pain, there was a shared moment of prayer and renewed hope.
“It was a very difficult visit,” Fr. Magloire shared. “People cried without hope. But we prayed together, and I promised to come back.”
As we hold these families in prayer, we remain committed to accompanying them on the path to recovery — with compassion, presence, and faith that hope will rise again.
