Child Jesus School Launches 2026–2027 Back-to-School Campaign

Campaign will help provide textbooks, notebooks, and pencils for students in Petit-Goâve, Haiti

PETIT-GOÂVE, Haiti — Child Jesus School is preparing to welcome students for the 2026–2027 school year on September 7. To help students begin the year ready to learn, Child Jesus School has launched a Back-to-School Campaign focused on essential textbooks and classroom supplies.

The campaign’s initial goal is to help provide approximately 145 textbooks, along with notebooks and pencils for about 300 students. Final enrollment, grade-level book quantities, and book prices are being confirmed with the school administration as registration continues.

Child Jesus School serves children and families in communities facing economic hardship in and around Petit-Goâve. During the 2025–2026 school year, the school enrolled 281 students—134 boys and 147 girls—across nine years of fundamental education.

Textbooks are an essential area of support for students. The school and its partners are also developing a lending-and-return system that will help preserve reusable books, encourage shared responsibility, and reduce replacement costs in future years.

“Our goal is to make sure students can enter the classroom with the books and basic supplies they need to participate fully in their education,” said Theresa Orozco, a member of the Child Jesus School Steering Committee. “This campaign is also an investment in a more sustainable system for caring for and reusing school resources.”

The school is also preparing to begin its first secondary-level program. Planning and fundraising for secondary education, staffing, and the New Building Campaign will be handled separately from the current Back-to-School Campaign.
